Introduction
Let’s cut to the chase. We built this Excelitas UV lamp for one reason: to survive the beating of a KTK elliptical flash-curing machine. It’s a brutal job. You need searing heat, then an instant cool-down, over and over again. Regular lamps just can’t handle that stop-and-go rhythm. They give up. We built this one to thrive on it. It’s an industrial workhorse, designed for rapid-fire starts and stops, so you get consistent power every single time—without worrying about it burning out on you.
The Inside Story
At the heart of it all is a 400V high-voltage setup paired with a 300mm quartz tube. This design packs a ton of energy into a small space, giving you the intense heat you need for those quick flash cycles. The 2500W power rating is exactly what it takes to hit the right temperature fast, keeping your production line moving without long pauses. But here’s the catch—that kind of power puts a serious strain on the filament and the electrodes. So, we had to completely rethink the internal design just to handle that constant, punishing heat cycling.
How We Built It to Last
We chose a halogen-filled, shortwave UV quartz tube. Why? Because it keeps the arc stable, even when you’re restarting it again and again. That internal halogen cycle is the real hero. It shields the filament from evaporating, which is the number one way these lamps fail under constant switching. And the R7s connector? That was a no-brainer. It’s built for industrial life. It handles the high current, locks in solid, and makes the whole thing a simple, drop-in replacement you can get wired up in minutes. We also gave the quartz a special coating to handle the UV output while resisting the shock of those frequent temperature swings.
Real-World Performance
On a KTK elliptical machine, the curing process runs in short bursts, then takes a pause. Standard lamps crack, blacken, or just die under that kind of punishment. Our design keeps the arc steady and the output reliable, so your cure profile stays consistent. Now, there’s one thing to keep in mind. Packing 2500W into a 300mm tube generates a lot of heat. Your machine’s cooling system has to be up to the task. If the housing can’t shed that heat, the lamp’s life will suffer. But when your cooling is properly matched to the spec, you get a tough, dependable UV source that keeps pace with the machine, not the other way around.
